Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026 · Aethon Accountancy Ltd

These terms of service govern your use of the Aethon Accountancy website at aethonaccountancy.co.uk and the enquiry, quoting, and proposal tools available on it. They should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. The terms that govern the actual delivery of accountancy services are set out in your signed letter of engagement.

2. Accepting These Terms

By accessing or using our website you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

These terms apply to your use of the website and its tools (including the pricing calculator, free resources, and proposal system). They do not constitute or form part of an engagement to provide professional accountancy services. A separate letter of engagement, agreed in writing, governs any professional services relationship.

3. Use of This Website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • Use the website in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • Transmit unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website, server, or database
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce website content for commercial purposes without our written consent
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when submitting any form on this website

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the website for anyone who breaches these terms.

4. Pricing Calculator and Free Tools

The pricing calculator and free business tools on this website (including the Business Health Check and the LTV:CAC calculator) are provided for information and illustration purposes only. Any figures, estimates, or outputs they produce are indicative only and do not constitute professional advice or a binding quotation.

Actual pricing for our services is confirmed in a formal proposal and letter of engagement following a consultation. Indicative prices may change depending on the complexity and volume of your specific requirements.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the tools are accurate but do not warrant that outputs will be error-free or suitable for your specific circumstances. You should not rely solely on tool outputs without seeking professional advice.

5. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

Where you are an individual acting as a consumer (rather than in a business capacity), you have the right to cancel a contract for our services within 14 calendar days of the date the contract is formed, without giving any reason. This is your statutory cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

The contract is formed when you sign and return your letter of engagement.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us clearly within the 14-day period by contacting us at: hello@aethonaccountancy.co.uk or in writing to 2 Western Close, Bradford, BD6 2BZ.

You may use the following model cancellation wording, though it is not required:

"I/We hereby give notice that I/We cancel my/our contract for the supply of accountancy services. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Signed: [signature]. Date: [date]."

Effect of cancellation: If you cancel within 14 days and we have already begun providing services at your express request, we may charge you a proportionate amount for the work completed up to the point of cancellation. If no services have been commenced, you will receive a full refund of any amounts paid, within 14 days of us receiving your cancellation notice.

Note: The cancellation right does not apply where you have engaged us in a business-to-business capacity. Most clients of Aethon Accountancy engage us in connection with their business; if you are unsure which category applies to you, please ask before signing your engagement letter.

6. Ongoing Service Reviews

We conduct a review of each ongoing client relationship every quarter. The purpose of these reviews is to assess whether the current scope of services and the agreed fee continue to reflect the work being carried out, the complexity of your affairs, and our capacity to serve you to the standard we require of ourselves.

Following a quarterly review, we may propose:

  • A fee change — where the volume or complexity of work has materially increased or decreased since the fee was last set
  • A scope change — where the services you require have changed, or where additional services are needed to serve you properly
  • Disengagement — in limited circumstances where, for regulatory, capacity, or ethical reasons, we are unable to continue providing services

Any proposed fee or scope change will be communicated in writing with at least 30 days' notice before it takes effect. You are never obliged to accept a change. If you do not wish to accept a proposed change, you may end the engagement in accordance with your letter of engagement. We will never apply a revised fee without your agreement.

Reviews are carried out in the interest of maintaining a high-quality, sustainable service for all clients. They are a professional obligation under the AAT's requirements and are not a mechanism for arbitrary price increases.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — is owned by or licensed to Aethon Accountancy Ltd and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may view and print pages from this website for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without our prior written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

This website and its tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations, and conditions, whether express or implied.

We will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or punitive losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website. Our total liability to you for direct losses arising from your use of the website (excluding professional services liability, which is governed by your engagement letter) shall not exceed £100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by English law.

10. Website Availability

We aim to keep the website available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend the website temporarily for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control without notice.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes that affect an existing professional services contract, we will notify you directly.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you have a complaint about our professional services (as opposed to this website), please refer to the complaints procedure in your letter of engagement, or contact us at hello@aethonaccountancy.co.uk. You may also refer professional conduct complaints to the AAT at aat.org.uk.

These terms apply to the Aethon Accountancy website only and do not constitute the terms of any professional engagement. All professional services are governed by a separate letter of engagement. Aethon Accountancy Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 17284774. July 2026.
